If your into steam and you model true to form then you understand that most if not all steam locomotives were far from
clean and shiny. I model a western setting so naturally there is a certain look that comes with a dirty locomotive from the west.
Here's the weathering process I went with for my Lionel Challenger. Most of my steam is done in a similar fashion.
BILL OF MATERIALS:
- Rubbing alcohol 70%
- Rubbing alcohol 91%
- Testors Dullcoat
- Neo-lube
- Bragdon Enterprise weathering powders
- Assortment of paint brushes varing in size (mainly very small)
- Paper Towels
- PAINT:
- Polly Scale grimey black
- Polly Scale aged white
- Polly Scale grimey black
- Polly Scale mud
- Polly Scale concrete
HAPPY MODELING!!
