I model the C&O (Chesapeake & Ohio) during the year 1960, by this time the C&O had packed up all of their steam locomotives ( a few actually survived I think for a while longer ) and they had recieved all of their first generation diesels and largest order of any diesel locomotive, the GP7 and the GP9.

The GP7, totaling near 200 units were the intial workforce of Geeps for the C&O. Following those came the addition of 363 GP9 units by 1957. They lead the C&O into the next decade.

If your a C&O fan I suggest you go and see one of the last remaining GP7's fully restored to it's factory paint scheme at the Hocking Valley Scenic Railway of Nelsonville Ohio. More information can be seen by clicking here.
